Personal Life
I was born and raised in the Kansas City area. I graduated from De Soto high school and currently live in Kansas City, Missouri. In my 20s and 30s I lived in Texas, Arizona, Wyoming, Colorado, North Dakota, and then found my way back to Kansas City in 2016.
Somewhere in there I found time to complete a thru-hike of the Pacific Crest Trail, an uninterrupted footpath that begins at the California – Mexico border and ends at the Washington – Canada border about 2700 miles later. After this I completed the Colorado trail, the Arizona trail, plus a handful of smaller hikes. I was an avid runner for many years completing two marathons, a 50k, and many half-marathons until I tore my meniscus a few years ago.
Healthcare Experience
My career in healthcare only began in the last five years. I graduated nursing school in the first months of the Covid pandemic and went straight to the emergency department. After several years of that I decided to return to school to earn my masters in a psychiatric nurse practitioner program. While in school I took a job working as an admissions nurse at an inpatient psychiatric hospital for children.
